He’s an Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) graduate and instructed at their Northern Arizona campus from 2005-2013. In professional flying, he’s most recently served as an air ambulance captain in King Airs. Prior to that, he was a regional cargo captain hauling UPS Next-Day Air packages in Chieftains and Beech Airliners. Beyond professional flight, he is recognized as a top instructor at ERAU, the largest private aviation university of its kind. In 2007, ERAU voted him Flight Instructor of the Year. In 2008, he was further nominated for Flight Instructor of the Year for the state of Arizona. Since then, he has also served as a ground school instructor teaching classes for both ERAU and Yavapai College and as a Chief Instructor for Northaire Aviation flight school. His training is professional, fun, and thorough coupled with a friendly, relaxed personality type that gets along with everyone. With 6 years and well over 1,500 checkrides administered as a check airman, Tye excels at putting people at ease because he knows pilots perform better when they aren’t nervous. Explaining challenging concepts in an easy-to-understand manner for any age of pilot and all levels of experience is his objective, whether it’s been for an introductory flight with a teenager or a proficiency check for a retired airline pilot. Real world application of knowledge, tips, techniques, and operational insights are what Tye brings to the table. He is well-versed in the importance of single-pilot resource management and is eager to help you develop and maintain your knowledge and skill of operating safely while solo in the cockpit and looks forward to working with you.

Brian Schultz has been flying since 2000 and has been flight instructing since 2002. With over 2,000 hours of instruction given, Brian has the experience background to draw from. He has a strong passion for teaching and loves passing along his knowledge. Brian holds an Air Line Transport certificate in both airplane single engine and multi-engine land, type ratings in the CE-500, CE-525/CE525S, and LR Jet, Commercial single engine sea certificate, Gold Seal Certified Flight Instructor rating, Certified Instrument Instructor rating, Multi-Engine Instructor rating, and Advanced Ground Instructor rating. Brian has flown corporate part 91 from a PA-32 to CE525 all over world, part 135 charter service in a CE-500 in North America and was an instructor at numerous flight schools including Flight Safety where he instructed on the LR-Jet.
Brian currently is teaching students from private pilot rating to a ATP type rating. He is also involved with the local airport advisory board, a senior member for the 501 Squadron of Civil Air Patrol, the local airport AOPA ASN, a FAA FAAST Safety Team Representative and Beechcraft Pilot Proficiency Program Instructor.
No matter what the aircraft or the mission, Brian’s passion for aviation shines through. What separates Brian from most professional pilots/instructors is that he is small business owner himself. This gives Brian the unique understanding of the demands of a small business places on one’s schedule but also the understanding of how aviation can help with those time constraints. As Brian often says, “You cannot buy time but owning an airplane is pretty close”!
